THE RÉSEAU NATIONAL DE FORMATION EN JUSTICE (RNFJ) – FOR EQUAL ACCESS TO JUSTICE IN BOTH OFFICIAL LANGUAGES

The Réseau national de formation en justice (RNFJ) is made up of postsecondary teaching institutions, jurilinguistic centres and non-profit organizations that provide training services. The RNFJ advises the federal government on the language training needs of provincial justice stakeholders and facilitates collaboration between its members on initiatives to meet these training needs.

The training and tools of RNFJ members are designed to advance access to justice in both official languages and are aimed at working professionals as well as students in postsecondary law and justice-related programs. The tools developed and the basic and continuing education delivered cover most areas of law, in particular those under federal jurisdiction (criminal law, marriage and divorce settlements). The RNFJ recognizes that the availability of legal services in French in other areas of law (such as family law, civil law, immigration law and administrative law) varies by location.
